Labor & Employment Breakfast Seminar Series

Managing employees can be challenging even for the most seasoned Human Resource professionals and supervisors. This informational series includes three remaining one-hour informal and interactive discussions with our experienced labor and employment attorneys on employment issues routinely encountered in the workplace.

These sessions are designed to provide an opportunity to understand and discuss best practices and strategies for effective workplace management and the important role HR and supervisors play in achieving those goals, not only to create and maintain a positive and productive workplace environment, but to minimize legal risk to the employer.

What We Will Cover

The tentative schedule and topics for the sessions are below. Each session will include discussion, as well as sample policies or other written materials, as appropriate.

September 27: Exempt or Non-exempt?  and Other Wage and Hour Issues presented by Attorneys Rebecca Goldberg and Paula N. Anthony.

October 25: Best Practices for Managing Problem Employees
presented by Senior Partner Floyd J. Dugas

November 22: Significant NLRB and State Labor Board Decisions
presented by Senior Partners Floyd Dugas and Christopher M. Hodgson.

Who Should Attend

The sessions are designed for HR professionals, supervisors, and other personnel who are involved in managing or training employees.


The sessions will be presented at our Milford office which is located at 75 Broad Street, Milford, CT.


We will provide a complimentary continental breakfast from 7:45 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. Discussion will be from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.


Space will be limited, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is important to sign up as soon as possible. Admission is free for firm clients, $65 for non-clients. Attendees may register for more than one of the remaining four sessions at the price of $45 per session.
