Biography

Attorney Bamonte has exemplified great professional character and commitment at every turn of his emerging career. First barred in Connecticut in 2011, he quickly opened his own solo practice in Waterbury, CT, his hometown, and gained firsthand knowledge and experience in the local court system. The following year, he also accepted a role as Associate at Hunt Liebert Jacobson PC, a Hartford-based law firm representing the nation’s largest financial institutions during the aftermath of the housing crisis.

In 2013, Attorney Bamonte joined the Office of the Corporation Counsel for the City of Waterbury as a Staff Attorney, where during the next five years he advanced into the role of Assistant Corporation Counsel and managed a 20-plus person staff and his own substantial volume of municipal matters. 

Attorney Bamonte developed a love for municipal practice and assisting local communities manage emerging legal challenges, and in 2018, moved on to private practice with Berchem Moses PC in its Westport office. Since then, Attorney Bamonte has assumed great responsibility for five of the firm’s municipal clients in Fairfield County, oftentimes directly advising key town decision makers, officials and boards and commissions on a wide range of issues.

Attorney Bamonte has extensive experience in Freedom of Information compliance and defense, having attended dozens of hearings in contested cases, but also land use regulation and litigation, affordable housing, cell towers, and code enforcement. He represents private real estate developers of both residential and commercial properties and regularly appears before town land use boards and commissions.  He is an active member of the CT Bar Association and Treasurer of the Planning and Zoning section, the Connecticut Association of Municipal Attorneys, and several other professional and bar organizations and has been a regular speaker at legal conferences and trainings.

In January of 2023, Attorney Bamonte became one of the youngest Associates to be named Partner at Berchem Moses PC.  He has also been recognized in the Connecticut Law Tribune’s 2023 New England Legal Awards as a “New Leader in the Law.”

In addition to his professional achievements, Attorney Bamonte is an accomplished endurance athlete, having competed at numerous triathlons and racing events, and he now assists coaching youth sports. Attorney Bamonte lives in Danbury, CT with his wife, Beth, and their four boys, ages 8, 4, and identical twin toddlers.
