Board Of Selectmen Select Ira Bloom As Town Counsel For Wilton

At a special meeting of the Board of Selectmen held on December 6, 2016, Ira Bloom was named as Town Counsel for Wilton, Connecticut. Bloom’s appointment was the culmination of a formal year-long review process by a legal search committee.

Ira Bloom is a Senior Partner with Berchem Moses PC and the Managing Director of the firm’s Westport Office. He has represented the towns of Westport and New Canaan as Town Attorney for many years, and also serves as counsel to the towns of Easton and Madison.

“I am very pleased with this appointment and I Iook forward to working with the Wilton First Selectman, the Board of Selectmen, and all of the town officials,” stated Bloom.

Attorney Bloom is a member and former president of the Connecticut Bar Association Planning and Zoning Executive Committee, and a member of the association’s House of Delegates. He is also a former member of the Connecticut Association of Municipal Attorneys, a member of the Connecticut chapter of the American Planners Association, and a James W. Cooper Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation.
